Big City Girl, Small Town Charm

I don't know how many young people still go to cotillian, charm school, or etiquette lessons, but I certainly served my time learning about what it takes to be a proper young woman. The classes ended with a fashion show, I remember walking the runway and thinking that I looked fabulous.

That's probably where all of this started- my obsession with clothes, shoes, and make up. As I got older I loved flipping through the pages of magazines and seeing what was en vogue. But like any true fashionista

Now that I work in business I have a collection of business appropriate clothes, but also my evening wear. I'm not talking about the Little Black Dress, I'm talking about the clothes you wear after you get home from the gym. The clothes that you always read the cleaning tag on because you spent so much on them that you would hate to ruin them after just one wearing. Those clothes that you spend more money on and justify the expense because you know you'll get good wear out of them.

I may have a small obsession. As if you couldn't tell. Some people obsess over food and fine dining, I'm not one of those.

I'm not saying that I'm an expert, at all, but like any woman, I do have my opinions and that's what this blog is about, right?

Now, my friends pretty much always compliment my attire when we go out. I suppose I may just have a knack for knowing what would look good on someone. I tend to become the shopping buddy for my friends. And for some reason they freak out a little bit when we can be sitting at dinner and I start piecing an outfit together in my head. Right down the the accessories. That is a little freaky, huh? I don't know anyone else who has a photographic memory of their closet and knows what's in the laundry basket at all times. Okay, I'll admit it, I'm a little strange.

So anyways, I made this blog so I can answer your questions about fashion, make up, and etiquette. (Okay I had started a second sentence and got distracted because something I ordered from Nordstrom's just arrived and I had to open the boxes right away.) I have always enjoyed putting together unique and fun outfits for myself and my friends. I actually went to cosmetology school, so beyond just know how to apply make up, I also know what chemicals to watch out for. And as far as the etiquette goes, well I guess you could say that I learned how to give a proper handshake at the age of 14 and that handshake skill has served me well in the business world.

I'll be posting videos about hair and make up, photos of my favorite outfits, make overs, and etiquette help. If you'd like to be a guest on my blog and allow me to give you a make over, be a shopping buddy, or help with questions prior to a big event please email me! Or if you just have some random questions that pertain to those topics, I'd love to include that, too.
