Dear Sparkly,
I recently bought a DREAM pair of shoes. They are so pretty, they straddle the line between clothing and a work of ART. My problem is, I'm not usually much for fashion, and while I have one little black dress that will go well with them, I don't have occasion to wear the dress more than once a year- I'd really like to wear these shoes more often! My question is 3 fold: 1) How do I judge what occasions are appropriate for super dressy shoes?2) How can I build outfits around a specific item?and3) What can I wear specifically with this pair of shoes? I just don't have an eye for what's too casual, what matches, or what is appropriately "dressing down" the shoes.

Well Hopeless, I hope I can help you out!
1) I think the question you should be asking is "What occasion isn't appropriate for super dressy attire?" I have come to believe that you can dress any way you want for almost any occasion, sans weddings and funerals. But in reply to your question ask yourself "WWCBW" (What Would Carrie Bradshaw Wear)? Those shoes would be ideal for an indoor date, a night out dancing, or a concert. So don't let them gather dust in your closet because they definitely deserve a night out on the town!
2) I build outfits around a shoe all the time. I wish I was kidding, but I'm not. Your shoe is a little more outgoing so pair it with something understated. Jeans (preferably skinny jeans) and plain black or white shirt would be good. I would steer clear of sparkly tops because the shoes are the focus of the ensemble and you want to keep them there. Minimize your jewelry, as well. And be sure to walk confidently when you have them on.
3) Black, black and more black! I'd love to see you pair them with a solid color dress, as well. More specifically, remember that when you are building an outfit these shoes are the main event so choose something that will draw attention where attention is due. So, like a said in Answer #2, keep your outfit simple and clean and you can't go wrong.
*Things you can wear with this shoe: Solid color dresses, jeans and a plain color shirt, Little Black Dress, Black jeggings and a beige tunic.
A word of advice: To properly break in shoes, put on a pair of sock and wear them for 2-4 hours a day for a couple of weeks before wearing them out and about.
