Perfect Powder

Continuing my make up series, here's the first post Finding Foundation, if you need to catch up.

The secret to procuring the correct powder is something easy to learn.  Like I said in my previous article, the key to good coverage is to look natural.  Don't test the color on your wrist or your hand, try it out on your cheek, after all, that's where you'll be wearing it.  The right powder will cover your skin and give you a flawless look.

There are two types of powder that you will commonly find, loose and pressed.  Loose mineral powder can be a little more complicated to apply, but the benefits are quite good.  When applying loose powder keep these hints in mind:  Put a small amount of powder on a paper towel, then use the loose powder brush to retrieve the minerals from the paper towel.  Before you put the brush to your face, tap the brush a couple of times (do this over the towel) so that you lose the part of the powder that would fly away during the application.

Keep in mind the tone of your skin when purchasing the right powder.  If you are cool toned and buy a powder with a warmer base then you'll have a definitive make up line.  What budget friendly powder would I recommend?  Again, I go with CoverGirl, however, anything that doesn't warn against the powder getting near your eyes (cough *BareMinerals* cough) will be just fine.

Come back on Thursday for the next installment of this series:  Beautiful Blush.
