Yesterday I approached the topic about how to deal with pimples and gave some suggestions on preventing break outs and how to deal with those that do arise. But I wanted to share some great remedies that may be a little different than most.
I am a firm believer in the power of aromatherapy, and if used correctly, you can have a wonderful supply of natural skin care that will really make your face glow. Most of the products I'll be referencing are available at stores like Whole Foods, Central Market, and Sprouts.
*The following recipes are from The Complete Book of Essential Oils & Aromatherapy*
Cleanser, for all skin types
Ground almonds 3oz
Cornflour 3oz
Grated pure vegetable soap 3oz
-Mix in a blender and then add the following and blend again
Geranium 2drops
Lemon 2drops
Hyssop 2drops
-Store dry and use a small amount mixed with water in your hand and wash your face. Rinse well.
Facial Scrub, normal to oily skin types
Ground almonds 1tsp
Oatflakes 1tsp
Salt 1pinch
Cider Vinegar 1/2 teaspoon
Basil 1drop
-Mix the vinegar, salt, and basil together then add the almonds and oatflakes. Use damp fingers to roll the mixture over the face. Rinse off well.
The best kind of Face Mask for oily skin is called Fuller's Earth. It's a soft, brown clay mask that helps remove dead skin.
Face Mask, acnaic skin type
Basic mask 1Tbsp
Water 1Tbsp
Combine and use 1 drop:
Chamomile
Lavendar
Juniper
Patchouli
Whitehead Treatment
Bergamot 5drops
Thyme linalol 5drops
Diluted in 1Tbsp vegetable oil
-Use a very small amount of the oil to massage the area twice a day, morning and night. This will help the inflammation to go down.
