Dear Sparkly,
What are some of your favorite beauty & fashion things?
-Curious
My favorite beauty products are from Aveda (check out the link on the right hand side under "My Favorites) and fashion things come from all over. I'm going to post just a few things, and I hope they'll inspire you to try the products yourself and find your own fashionable statement pieces.
Brilliant by Aveda is true to it's name. I put a few spritzes in my hair after I finish styling and it makes my hair look shiny and healthy. I used it in my hair one evening and while greeting people at church another young woman commented on how beautiful my hair looked.
Botanical Kinetics by Aveda has had a wonderful effect on my skin. I have oily/acnaic prone skin, but I'm also very sensitive to products. This line keeps my face clear without causing redness and inflammation. I also don't have to worry about a greasy feeling when I apply the lotion.
Black Pumps by Olsenboye are a staple for any closet. Not only will they never go out of style, but they're incredible comfortable. Black pumps are ideal for a business, cocktail, date, or formal environment.
The Red Cocktail Purse. I found this sparkly clutch while on a purse shopping trip with my dad. We were going through rows and rows of bags that we would donate to various auctions. Don't ever underestimate the pieces you may find in a wholesale store! I use this bag when I'm trying to down play the sparkles due to a semi-formal event. The most recent excursion with this purse was to a Valentine's Day party. I paired it with a black top and white pants.
The Walking Liberty Necklace. This was given to me by my grandmother (my mom's mom) shortly after my grandfather passed away. She said that this piece was popular in the 1950's and that she never wore it anymore. I gladly accepted it and began wearing it quite often. I never knew the name of the coin until my first day of cosmetology school, when one of my classmates comments on it. I've cherished the necklace for years.
Pink and Sparkly Top by Charming Charlie. Everyone should have that signature piece that they always consider, but hardly ever wear. I've worn this top countless times over the last year, and I'm complimented on it every time. One of the best things about this blouse? No one else has it! Rarely do I feel the need to be a scene stealer, but when I'm in the mood, this one does it every time.
One of the things that I think is very important about a wardrobe is owning items that are truly unique to yourself and your personal style. Whether it's a signature piece of jewelry, or a purse that, when seen sitting across the room, everyone knows it's yours. It may take a while to find something that will last as fashion changes, but when you find that perfect piece, you'll know.

The Pineapple Quartz Pendant. If you've seen the Jennifer Lopez movie "Monster-in-law" (stop laughing, I happen to have really bad taste in films) then you've seen this necklace before. Jennifer's character Charlie wears it in every scene. I liked how it went with everything the character wore, so I spent some time on google and purchased one for myself. It's another piece that goes well with nearly every outfit I own.
