I have to say, fall is my favorite time of year. I know that may seem crazy to some of you, but it truly is! Especially that part of fall that is before Daylight Savings (Summer is my second favorite season). So here are a few of my favorite things!
Dallas Arboretum
Autumn at the Arboretum is full of pumpkins, squash and gourds (over 50,000 of them!). There's even a hay bale maze.
State Fair of Texas
I grew up going to this every single year. Nothing beats having a corny dog while listening to Big Tex talk about the events of the day. And looking at all the arts and crafts. And watching the dancing. And listening to the Killdares. I just love the fair.
Halloween Costumes
I may be almost 30, but I love a good costume party. This year, my friends and I will be having a SciFi themed event, so I'll be attending as Princess Leia, my childhood heroine. She fought the Dark Side and looked good doing it!
Caramel Apple Cider
I'm not a frequenter of the Starbucks, but I do enjoy their Caramel Apple Cider. It's perfect for staying warm on those nights you go out for a hay ride or a bonfire.
Sweaters, Shawls, Hats, Mittens, and Boots
Okay, I'm a total sucker for cold weather clothing. But who can blame me? There's so many beautiful choices for accessorizing! You can wear the same jeans and long sleeve t-shirt nearly every day (but please wash!) and look like you have a different outfit every time! My mom makes some fantastic items that go well for this season!
Branson, Missouri
In a place where you get all four seasons, Branson definitely delivers on the autumn! Trees are lush and full of oranges, reds, and yellows! Entertainment is vast (and if you want to know which shows are good check out bransonrank.com-it's run by my dear brother) and there's a lot going on! My family has made it a habit of going to Branson for Thanksgiving and we really enjoy the weather and the atmosphere.
